1. The Service
The K9 School Bus provides scheduled electric vehicle transport for dogs between designated dog park stops and Wolfhouse daycare campuses in Brisbane, collecting and returning each dog on the same day.
-
Routes, stops, and timetables are published on our website and may be updated from time to time.
-
Each booking is for a return journey on the scheduled route for that day.
-
We reserve the right to adjust routes, stop times, or capacity for operational or safety reasons, with reasonable notice where possible.
-
Your dog must be registered and confirmed to attend Wolfhouse on the day of travel. We're not able to transport a dog that isn't booked in with Wolfhouse for that day.
-
At the time of booking, you'll provide your details and your dog's details. It's your responsibility to make sure this information is accurate, and to let us know if anything changes.
2. Health & Temperament
We carry a mix of breeds and sizes in individual travel cabins, and every dog must be medically and behaviourally suited to that environment.
-
You must disclose any known medical condition, past injury, anxiety, or history of aggression before your dog's first journey. Failure to disclose may result in suspension of the service for your pup.
-
We may decline or suspend transport for any dog that, in our reasonable judgement, poses a health or safety risk to itself, other dogs, or our driver.
-
Should a dog show signs of distress or illness during a journey, we will end the affected leg of the trip as safely as possible and contact you immediately.
-
Dogs travelling with us are expected to meet Wolfhouse's own vaccination and health requirements as a condition of daycare entry. We rely on those requirements being met and do not separately collect or hold vaccination records.
-
If your pup is a BMOD dog, they're welcome to travel with us, with the advice and consent of the Wolfhouse team. All pups are welcome on the bus regardless of breed or BMOD status, as long as the Wolfhouse team have confirmed they'll be happy and safe travelling as part of a group.
3. Collection, Delivery & Handover
Your pup will be collected and returned at the published dog park stops, at the scheduled times. To keep the bus running safely and on time for everyone, unfortunately we're not able to collect from or deliver to private residences.
-
Every booking comes with a QR code and a handover password. Our driver will check this with whoever's dropping off or collecting the dog, simply so we know your pup is going home with the right person.
-
We'll wait at each stop for the time shown on the published timetable, giving everyone a fair chance to get there on time. If your pup isn't there when we need to move on to keep the rest of the route on time, we'll unfortunately have to continue without them, and that journey won't be refunded.
-
If no one's there to collect your dog at the return stop, we'll try to reach you straight away. We understand life happens so please advise ASAP if you’re running late. If late collection becomes a regular thing, we may need to introduce a fee or have a chat about whether the timing works for your schedule.
4. Pricing & Payment
Pricing is per dog, per day, for the return journey, and varies by stop according to the tiers published on our website.
-
All payments are processed securely through PixoBooking and Square at the time of booking. We do not store your card details.
-
Prices are reviewed periodically and may change with reasonable notice. The price confirmed at the time of booking applies to that booking.
5. Cancellations, Changes & Refunds
We understand plans change. Our cancellation window is 24 hours before your dog's scheduled pickup.
-
For example, if your pup is booked for a 6:00am pickup on Wednesday, just let us know by 6:00am Tuesday (a Monday evening message works perfectly) so we can rearrange your booking or arrange a credit.
-
Cancellations made with at least 24 hours notice are eligible for a refund or credit, less any applicable administration fee.
-
Cancellations made after this window, and no-shows at the dog park stop, are non-refundable.
6. Injury, Illness & Emergency Care
Your pup's wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, and it's always our first priority if anything doesn't go to plan.
-
The K9 School Bus and our vehicle are fully insured, so you can travel with confidence knowing your pup is properly covered.
-
Dogs travel in individual, secure cabins for the full journey and are never left to interact with one another unattended. In the morning, you board your dog and the Wolfhouse team takes them off the bus. In the afternoon, the Wolfhouse team boards your dog and you collect them one at a time at the stop. Because dogs are never loose together at any point, injuries between dogs during transport simply aren't something you need to worry about.
-
If your dog is injured or becomes unwell while in our care, their health comes first. Rather than wait to reach you for confirmation, we'll get your dog to the nearest available vet as soon as possible if we believe they need urgent attention, and we'll contact you as soon as we can to keep you updated.
-
Our driver will use reasonable judgement to provide basic care in the moment, but is not a veterinary professional, and will always err on the side of getting your dog seen quickly if they feel your pup needs care.
-
You're responsible for the cost of any veterinary care arranged this way - but note that we'll always act in your dog's best interest first as their safety and wellbeing is paramount.
7. Liability & Indemnity
The welfare and safety of every dog in our care is at the heart of what we do, from our vehicle fit-out to our handover process. That said, as with any transport service, it's important to be clear about where our responsibility sits.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
-
All dogs travel at the Owner's risk, subject to the above and to the cover provided by our vehicle and public liability insurance.
-
You agree to indemnify us against claims, costs, or damages arising from your dog's behaviour, an undisclosed medical or behavioural condition, or inaccurate information provided at the time of booking, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or bad faith.
8. Right to Refuse or Suspend Service
We may refuse, suspend, or terminate a booking or ongoing enrolment, at our reasonable discretion, where a dog presents a health, safety, or behavioural risk to themselves or others. Where practicable, we'll discuss any concern with you first and try to find a workable solution.
9. Conduct
The K9 School Bus is a small, personal operation, it's just our driver and founder behind the wheel, so a friendly, respectful atmosphere means a lot to us.
-
We ask that everyone we cross paths with, owners, nominated pickup or drop-off contacts, and other dog parents at the stops, treats each other and our driver with courtesy and kindness.
-
If anyone behaves abusively or unsafely toward our driver or other dog parents, we may need to step back from providing the service to that person.
10. Photos & Social Media
We love sharing happy moments from the bus. From time to time, we may photograph or film your dog during pickup, drop-off, or while travelling, and use these images on our website and social media channels to promote The K9 School Bus.
-
We will not include your dog's name tag, ID tag, or any other identifying detail in images we share publicly.
-
We do not share your name, contact details, or any other personal information alongside any photo or video.
-
If you'd prefer your dog isn't featured on our website or social media, just let us know at any time and we'll make sure they're left out.
11. Website, Communications & Privacy
Our website is informational and hosted on Shopify. Bookings and payments are handled through PixoBooking and Square respectively, not through the website itself.
-
If you subscribe to our community updates, these are sent via Mailchimp and you can unsubscribe at any time.
-
How we collect, use, and protect your personal information is set out in our separate Privacy Policy, which forms part of your agreement with us.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our service or requirements. The current version will always be available on our website, and continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Just So You Know
The K9 School Bus is run out of Brisbane, so naturally, that's the neighbourhood these Terms call home too, under Queensland law. If something's ever not sitting right with you, please come and chat to us about it. We're a small, personal business, and we'd always rather sort things out together over a chat. On the rare chance we truly can't find a way through it together, it'd fall under Brisbane and Queensland jurisdiction.
14. Owner Acknowledgement
By booking with The K9 School Bus, you confirm that:
-
The details you provided at the time of booking, for both you and your dog, are complete and accurate.
-
Your dog is registered and confirmed to attend Wolfhouse on the day of travel, and meets Wolfhouse's vaccination and health requirements for daycare entry.
-
You have disclosed any relevant health, temperament, or behavioural information about your dog.
-
You authorise us to arrange emergency veterinary care at your expense if reasonably necessary.
-
You accept the risks associated with group transport of animals.
-
You accept these Terms in full, including the pricing, cancellation, liability, and photo/social media provisions set out above.
