1. Book your spot
Via the booking platform you'll be able to choose your day, your park stop and your cabin size - you can book and pay for your spot quickly and easily, all online.
2. Get your confirmation email
Once your booking is confirmed, you'll receive an email with a QR code and a tracking link so you'll know where the bus is at any point during the day - no second guessing, no wondering.
3. Meet us at the park
Head to your designated dog park at your pick-up window. Hand your pup over - I'll check them in with your QR code, load them safely into their cabin and head to Wolfhouse.
Note: Stop locations and exact pick-up times are being finalised and will be announced soon!
4. Dropped safely at Wolfhouse
I'll pull into Wolfhouse and hand your kiddo over to the daycare team. The Wolfhouse staff will have received a list of who is travelling by bus, and will sign them in for their day of fun!
5. Afternoon pickup from Wolfhouse
The bus returns to Wolfhouse in the afternoon to collect everyone. Each kiddo is checked back onto the bus via the manifest, popped back into their cabins and I head back to the dog park to meet you and drop them off.
6. Meet us back at the park
The bus returns to each stop at a set time in the late afternoon/early evening. You give me your password, then you head home with your happy, tired kiddo.
The Cabins...
Every pup travels in their own cabin.
No shared spaces, no stress - each passenger has their own secured cabin, with a soft travel blanket for a comfortable trip to school.
I'm not going to lie - the cabin design has been the most complicated part of the process! We have 2 German Shepherds and a Husky so we wanted to ensure that we could accommodate the larger kiddos comfortably.
We have settled on 3 cabin sizes, and have manufactured them via a local fabricator who has been fantastic and understood the brief - as quirky as it was!
Once the cabins have been constructerd and fitted in the bus, I'll share photos to help illustrate the size and layout so you can choose the perfect cabin size for your pups journey.
Safety & Security...
I take this very seriously, because I know you do.
I'm that pawrent who checks in with our awesome pet sitter multiple times a day and stresses if they don't text back straight away! Therefore I understand (and expect and appreciate) that you'll want to ensure you're handing your kiddo over to a trusted person every morning. I know I would.
It's not lost on me that you will be trusting me with your pup, so here's how I keep every run safe and secure - these are the things I would want from a service like this for my boys.
QR Code & Passwords
You'll receive a QR code when you book your cabin. I'll use it to verify your pup at pick-up. And at drop-off you give me your password so only you (or someone you've shared it with) can collect them.
Live GPS Tracking
A live tracking link is included in your confirmation email. You can follow the bus in real time from the moment it picks up the first pup of the day, through to the Wolfhouse drop off and back to the park again at the end of the day.
Wolfhouse Knows Your Pup
Your kiddo needs to be a registered Wolfhouse member to ride the bus, and needs to be enrolled for campus that day. The Wolfhouse will be sent the bus manifest every day and they'll be waiting for them to arrive!
Wolfhouse Knows Me
Our boys have gone to the Wolfhouse for 7+ years - we have probably unknowingly crossed paths over the years waiting for the lift at Hamilton! The team know us (and our boys) really well, so when I suggested starting this venture, they were all for it.
Fully Insured
The K9 School Bus carries commercial vehicle insurance, public liability cover and specialised insurance for the transport of your pups every day. I have dotted the i's and crossed the t's to ensure you have the confidence that I have taken my responsibility very seriously.
Comfort & Safety
Your pup will travel in their own custom built cabin, which will be disinfected between runs to keep things nice and clean. They'll also have a soft travel blanket for the journey, internal fans in warmer weather, and I use Adaptil Transport Spray each day - a calming, odourless synthetic pheromone designed to reduce anxiety and travel sickness in pups.
Built Around The Wolfhouse...
The K9 School Bus is an approved transport partner of Wolfhouse and it services both of their campuses - Hamilton & Carindale.
I work directly with the Wolfhouse team on handovers and daily coordination to ensure a seamless handover and pickup.
To ride The K9 School Bus, your pup needs to be a current Wolfhouse member and booked to attend on the day of travel. If they're not already enrolled, head to the Wolfhouse website to get started, then come back and grab a spot on the bus!
